At the end of last year, I walked into a women’s conference thinking I’d come out a better social media consultant, able to drive up leads and sales for my then three-week old business. Instead, I came out not only with a completely new idea for a business, but for the first time ever in my life – I was able to articulate my purpose.
I wrote this down in my notes that day:
I’m Keiko Zoll, writer and infertility advocate. I work with the infertility community to give us a voice and to create an open, national dialogue about infertility free from shame… because 1 in 8 is someone you know – like me.
These two sentences, this simple utterance of purpose – would become the guiding foundation for the work I’ve done for the past 4 months, to bring me to this moment.
To bring me to The Infertility Voice.
To bring me to each of you.
Welcome.

Those two sentences have shaped even the very mission of The Infertility Voice; you can see it’s been tweaked and expanded a bit since my stroke of insight last December.
I created this website, this business, this new blog: for you. I created The Infertility Voice because you matter. The Infertility Voice exists because your infertility story matters.
Each one of us has such different stories to tell and paths to walk. In fact, in the US alone, there are 7.3 million of us trying to build our families. And no matter how we do it, our journeys are all valid, real and meaningful. They are deserving of respect, dignity and compassion. These beliefs – that your story matters, that your experiences and emotions are valid, that you deserve dignity and compassion – these make up some of the foundational beliefs about The Infertility Voice.
Around here, we believe hope isn’t a four-letter word.
It’s a way of living.

Welcome to The Infertility Voice.
Wow, it feels really good to say that to you all. It’s been a long time coming, from within my heart.
What does The Infertility Voice mean to you today, right now, in this moment?
In celebration,
Stephanie says
I love the new site! I am so excited about you speaking out for women with infertility. I’m still relatively new to this since I was only diagnosed in 2011 but I find myself leaning toward the fact that I have been trying to find my purpose for a while and I have known that it revolved around women’s issues but until infertility I wasn’t sure what to focus on. With each day I realize my purpose might just be to help in the infertility community and your words resonate with me. In fact I just stood up in front of my Toastmaster’s group in my recent speech and told everyone that I wanted to give a voice to the women who suffer in silence and here you are putting those same thoughts out there and I am so excited for you! Infertility is definately a journey.

Yay Keiko! This looks so great! I am so very proud of you! Congrats! 🙂
The Infertility Voice means to me, in this very moment, knowing that there are people (like you) willing to speak up and out on behalf of those struggling with infertility. As you say, all of our stories matter and the more the general public hears what we have to say, hopefully the less stigma there will be associated with the infertility community.
So excited to be following this next part of your journey with you here! Hooray for The Infertility Voice! 🙂
