I was inspired by PostSecret’s tweet today:
My wife & I realized how boring our lives are when we got too excited with our new coffee maker. We came up with an equation to express it.
coffee maker excitement = (life – interesting) :: Do you have any life equations? I’ll RT some that you send me.
So I was thinking… what’s the life equation for infertility?
I offer the following (mind you, my math is crap):
Infertility = Hope ((The way you thought it would be ÷ Things don’t go as planned) – Doin’ it the old fashioned way)
Or, to demonstrate it more visually:

What do you think – do I have my math correct?
This is such a clever way of looking at it!
At various times in my journey I would have had lots of subtraction, some division, very little multiplication, and finally, a few additions.
Here from “the future” for Time Warp Tuesday!
I laughed out loud reading this post! I LOVE it! I think your equation is awesome and right on! 🙂
My accountant husband would likely be amused by your creative approach to math here! I was a Leisure Studies major and he still teases me about that to this day.
I also appreciate FET Accompli’s take on the coffee equation! I agree that finding joy in the little things is more about celebrating simple pleasures and less about having a boring life.
Okay, going back to the future to comment on your new post reflecting on this one! 🙂
Your equation is right on. In terms of the coffee equation, I'd like to modify it:
coffee maker excitement = appreciation of the simple things in life
LOL. That IF equation is SO true!
