Dr. Melissa Miles McCarter is an editor, writer, publisher, and academic who lives in rural Southeast Missouri. She endured 12 years of infertility after the loss of her daughter to SIDS and an ectopic pregnancy. Melissa edited and published an an anthology on motherhood and loss called, Joy, Interrupted, which has a number of contributions about the struggles with infertility. She enjoys spending time with her husband, stepson, three English bulldogs, Boss Hog, Daisy and Roscoe, and their mutt, Little Bit Flash.
