Saints alive: I’m nesting.
At first, it was little things. Picking up Larry’s socks from the floor. Making sure the kitchen sink was empty. Then it turned into and a complete reorganization of our kitchen and repainting our dining room and DIY updating the lighting fixtures in there, too:
Then we signed up for meal planning through The Fresh 20: I needed to organize our evening dinner routine because I was so tired of playing the “what’s for dinner?” game every night at 5 o’clock. (I’ll have a whole separate post on how that’s going, but in short: so far, so good. No misses yet on any of the meal plans we’ve used.)
Then I tackled my desktop. Not my actual, physical desk – although I did clean THAT off this morning too – my computer desktop. I couldn’t stand all the unsorted files and icons. It all had to be virtually tidied up, like so:
(Like this desktop organizer as much as I do? Get the fully customizable Photoshop file here!)
Then yesterday morning, out of nowhere: load of laundry, loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the kitchen and then cleaned my desk. I couldn’t start my day until all of these things has been done. Every time I see a sale for home organizing on Zulily, I have to stop what I’m doing and scan through the shop. The nesting urge is pretty overwhelming and kind of ridiculous!
Last weekend we went to IKEA and got all of the nursery furniture and I finally started painting in the nursery.
Here’s a sneaky peek:
The plan this weekend? Finish it all! Hell, if I had my way, it all would have been done a month ago but we’ve both just been so busy in the evenings and on weekends.
But now my Mama Bird instinct is apparently in high gear because I’m like EVERYTHING MUST BE CLEANED AND ORGANIZED NOW. I suppose one of the good perks about having a baby in June and nesting right now is that at least we KNOW the spring cleaning will get done for sure this year!
