A bit of a random post tonight. Lots of random things happening in my life as of late, and happy to report… many of them quite good 🙂
- Working on my business website; spent most of Friday doing it and I have to say, I’m pretty damn pleased with the results. Only a few little things left to do before I officially announce and launch it, mostly likely late next week. I can’t wait to share it with everyone here!
- Since I went on a creativity binge in the last 24 hours, NaNoWriMo has stalled. I’m still sitting at just over 10,000 words and I’ve barely written another 1,000 since Sunday 🙁 I really hope my novel hasn’t stalled, but I have a feeling it has.
- It’s crazy to think that I’ll never be on-call for work again. As a central staff member, I would be “on-duty” for a week at a time, usually about 4-5 weeks a semester. Essentially, if bad shit went down on campus, I got called. Thankfully, while at Tufts, I only ever really had one really scary incident – a student was in a bad accident. Most calls were “so-and-so was transported to the hospital for alcohol.” Not much we do, quite honestly. But now that Friday is my last day? No more calls – ever.
- Nerd Alert: We own Skyrim now. It’s a video game that’s as if World of Warcraft, Fable, and Final Fantasy all had a super nerdy RPG/Quest-Based video game baby together. It’s probably one of the most beautifully rendered, well-scored video games I’ve ever played. The game also has endless randomly spawned quests which technically means… it will never end. This game is glorious. (This is also effecting my ability to NaNoWriMo as well; I’m staying up until 2am playing this instead of writing).
- Monday I do all the formal paperwork part of setting up my business: filing my DBA certificate, joining my local Chamber of Commerce, buying health insurance (not so fun) and then setting up a business bank account. Entrepreneurship, here I come!
That’s pretty much about it for right now… Just a lil snapshot of what’s what over at my place. What’s new with y’all?

Skyrim has also taken over our television. It IS beautiful and one of the first after Fable and Bioshock that I don’t mind watching.

I am
drowningimmersed in Skyrim right now. I feel like quitting my job, giving up personal hygiene and stealing cabbages all day for the rest of my life.Kimberly says
Husband started Skyrim last night and I haven’t been able to get and keep his attention since. He’s drooling over the game.
