If you’ve read Anita Diamant’s The Red Tent, you get the gold star for today. Haven’t read it yet? Go buy it and do that please. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The Red Tent is basically required reading for all women, everywhere.
I’ve talked about The Red Tent Temple movement a little bit before here and I’m sure it still sounds a bit vague and murky to some of you. So, I have something even better to try and explain it to you this time…
A movie trailer!
Back in November, filmmaker Isadora Leidenfrost came to our Salem Red Tent Temple to film us for her forthcoming movie, Things We Don’t Talk About: Healing Narratives from the Red Tent. I was also privileged to have been interviewed on camera as well for my own personal experience with the Red Tent Temple: why I came (to find healing in the wake of feeling like a Broken Woman) and why I go back (to help other Women find healing and support to be the Wise Women they are).
While I don’t know how much I’m in the film, I know I at least made the cut for the trailer 🙂 (Bonus points to anyone can leave in the comments the timestamp at which my voiceover cameo appears.)
Check out the trailer below, follow the Red Tent Movie blog, and read more about Isadora’s amazing, groundbreaking film at her website (which is hosting an awesome giveaway this month!) – and share this with all the amazing Wise Women in your life!
But don’t take my word for it… *cue Reading Rainbow music* Circle+Bloom and Rachel’s Well have endorsed the film as well, along with over two dozen other organizations. You can see them all at the very end of the trailer.
Watch the full trailer below or here on YouTube.
Happy Friday to all my Wonderful, Wise, Beautiful Women readers out there!

Looks very interesting. I’m all for female bonding!
I’m going to take a wild guess and say your voice over is 1:40 but I could be totally wrong. Or at the very begining. I have no idea what your voice sounds like, it’s just what I imagine it to be!
